My bad
To add to my list of things I have done to embarrass my kids (up there with letting our dog get on the bus and unknowingly letting Avery go to a playground in a dress without any underwear on under it) today I sent Bryce to school with a note for his teacher in his backpack. I guess I had forgotten to unpack one of the pockets of his backpack from our trip the other week because instead of pulling out the note for his teacher he pulled out a handful of girls underwear in the middle of his Kindergarten classroom. It's a good thing I'm not running for Mother of the Year.

More Dinner Time Chaos...
More randomness from our dinner table:
Avery: Bee's make honey
Me: That's right, but please chew your food. That's gross when if falls out of your mouth.
Bryce: If you put a shark in the bathtub you will get a lot of exercise.
Paxton: How?
Bryce: Swimming away!
Shaylee: Dinosaurs eats eat like this. (With meatball hanging out of her mouth)
Me: Shaylee that's gross. Please use your manners. And don't spill your Kool-Aid it will stain. (To Paxton): I think we have been letting our kids watch too many Walking With Dinosaur movies.
Avery: Dinosaurs have manners? Lobsters are nice. They don't crush you because we eat them.
Bryce: If you put a raptor in your bathtub you will get lots of exercise running away like this... (Bryce, bolts from the table)
Me: Bryce, sit down please and don't spill your drink please.
Shaylee: what if you put a T-Rex in your bathtub?
Me: You get a new bathtub... and house.
Bryce: Uh oh... is it ok if you spill red Koolaid on a shirt that is red already?
Me (to Paxton): What if you have three raptors at the dinner table?
Paxton (with kids chomping, chewing, spilling and growing in the background): What?
Me: You just try to survive with as little carnage as possible.

Brrr...
You know you live somewhere cold when it hits 48 degrees and you go out for a picnic (or ride your motorcycle).

Wedding Bells
We have been gone for a week at my sisters wedding. She wasn't too concerned about the details (other than that her groom show up) so she let me take over pretty much everything. This time I got to try my hand at decorating a ballroom and making corsages, boutonnieres, and bouquets. I think everything turned out pretty well. As payment I only ask they name their first born child after me...

Just for kicks
Here are a few of my art projects from this year (on top of my kids rooms but I have already posted pictures of those. These are my attempts at painting on canvas instead of my kids walls.
This was my first one:

This one was for my dad for Fathers' Day while he was in Baghdad:

This was the one that Avery put her foot through. Notice the scar in the right side. I fixed with duck tape:

I made these for each of the grandparents this Christmas to remember our Colin:

Birthday boy!

As of today, I have two six year olds. For two weeks Shaylee and Bryce are the same age. (You can imagine the looks I get when I say that and follow it with, "No, they aren't twins). It was too bad that Bryce and Shaylee both started throwing up yesterday but they didn't get sick until after the birthday party. In fact they didn't get really sick until they were at their aunt's house and Paxton and I had just started snowboarding. We had done two runs when we go the call that the kids were throwing up. Go figure. This is the cake I made. Bryce requested a petulacasaurus (sp) cake. I don't know what one of those looks like but I did my best anyway.
Bryce Age 2
Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most wonderful boy a mom could ask for!
