Dear Jacob,
Someday when you're all grown up you'll realize that most days are pretty mundane. You wake up, run through the day and crash at night feeling accomplished but that nothing life changing happened. Then there are the days that shine through your memory like a ray of sunshine in a fog bank. Last weekend was one of those days for me.
I'm so proud that you have chosen to get baptized. You are such an example of love and kindness to everyone who is lucky enough to know you. When you walked in with your dad, dressed in your white clothes my heart swelled up and, despite my best efforts, I cried till my nose ran (it's true).
Grandma and Grandpa Rhino flew all the way to Utah, picked up Aunt Jenny. Then drove to Rexburg and picked up Michael and his girlfriend Arita (I suspect she will be Aunt Arita before too long) and then they drove all the way to our house and could only stay for the baptism and had to leave the next morning. They said it was worth every minute. Grandma and Grandpa Quigley brought the Larsen kids and even Aunt Danielle and Seth came. I think Seth was weirded out a bit but he toughed it out. I think he even liked our house and our family!
As part of the program you kids sang my favorite song "Heavenly Father Loves Me" with Aunt Jenny while Uncle Mike played the piano. I have never heard a more beautiful song in my whole life. That was the song that my friend sang at Colin's funeral and I felt like he was there while you were singing, that just for a minute, all my kids where there celebrating this happy moment together.
Jacob, I love you with all my heart. You are more amazing than you will probably ever realize. I am so, so blessed to be your mom. There is nothing in the world I want to be more.
Loving you forever and ever!!
Mom
